Ry's dreamy soundscapes and knack for relatable lyrics that hit you in your feels makes him a necessity on your radar right now. We talked to him about his song "Someone" and what's been inspiring him lately.
How did you get started in music?
Ry: I’ve always had music in my blood. Both of my grandmothers were pianist and they both inspired me from an early age. I guess music is something that has always calmed me and it’s something where hours feel like minutes, just good vibes.
Tell me about your song “Someone” what’s the story behind it?
Ry: “Someone” was written about finding an equal. Someone who understands that 100% effort is put in on both sides for a relationship to work weather that is a best friend or lover.
What else has been inspiring you lately?
Ry: Quinn XCII as always but I’ve also been listening to country a lot, especially Riley Green, he’s golden when it comes to storytelling in my eyes.
What has been the biggest challenge for you in the music industry?
Ry: I would say exposure but honestly, that’s not too big of a worry, knowing that sharing my music has the right intentions behind it, something will happen if it’s meant to be.
What’s your best piece of advice for your younger self?
Ry: Plain and simple, be yourself unapologetically :-). I wouldn’t say that I was never not myself but I feel it took me a while to find out who I really was, and I’m still finding out, and always will be, that’s the fun of life.
