Julia Michaels is known for her stellar songwriting and her entire new album is filled with lyrical gems and that heart wrenching relatability that we love. We especially vibed with "Anxiety" featuring the amazing Selena Gomez. That feeling of not wanting to go out, the loss of sleep, and the need for understanding anxiety is something we can definitely feel.
She told Billboard, "We also liked the idea of doing a song together where we're talking about our relationship with anxiety. We're not talking about our relationship with men or us fighting over somebody or something like that -- those things that are typical duets for women. Or a female empowerment thing. This is a female empowerment thing, but it’s completely different. We're not throwing our fists in the air, but we're saying, “Hey, we have anxiety, but we're okay with it.”
Robinson has come a long way since our first interview. The New Zealand pop artist just dropped "Karma" and this song comes at you hard. The bright pop sounds contrast with Robinson's desire for revenge. She is out to get you.
She sings, "Wondering where did you go. When I was wholehearted? Palm of your hand. But you didn't want it. Let down my walls when I was so guarded
Blinded by you. You hit my phone like, "Hey, how you doin'?" You really think that I was that stupid? Karma's a bitch, and baby she's ruthless."
We're always here for new Bahari. They teamed up with ILLENIUM for this gorgeous new track.
Bahari said, "This song is so close to our hearts. It's been one of our favorite songs we've ever made, and we have been waiting for the perfect time to put it out. ILLENIUM really captured the emotion of what we were trying to portray with the lyrics. We couldn't have dreamed of a better collaboration for this song."
New Zealand sensation, Drax Project celebrates the New Year by teaming up with Hailee Steinfeld for a fresh take on the infectious pop anthem "Woke Up Late". The track pairs smooth pop vocals, an irresistible beat and unapologetically candid lyrics detailing a night out / morning in. With the addition of Hailee's vocals, the collaboration exudes a contagious, bouncy energy that's sure to be on repeat on your playlist.
Drax Project says the song, “Is about wrapping your head around the adventure of the night before and ultimately deciding that you're cool with it. Given the nature of this story, it did cross our minds while writing it as to how it might work as a duet - with a female voice telling her side. We're all huge big fans of "Starving" and "Let Me Go," so were beyond stoked to get Hailee on song! She absolutely kills it in movies and in music. We feel like having her vocals take both the sonics and the feel of the song to another level!"
Rachel Crow is giving us new music and we are here for it. We love her voice and her honest lyrics. Her new song "Up All Night" tackles young love in a fresh way.
She told AOL, "This song is inspired by a sort-of relationship I had the Summer of 2017," she told AOL of the song. "I spent two solid weeks hanging out with them every day and then I didn’t see him again until January 2018. We just picked up right where we left off and that’s how it is every time we see each other."
She adds, "That feeling of wanting to spend every waking moment with that person and staying up all night with them."
Jenna Raine's songs are always so sweet and genuine. We love her honest songwriting and you can tell it comes from her heart. Her debut EP Nen is out today and it has previous releases like "Us" but we're so drawn to "A Letter to Me."
Jenna is truly one of the brightest up-and-coming artists and this is a strong debut.
King Princess debuts “I Know” featuring Fiona Apple today! Originally performed by Apple, “I Know” is produced by King Princess with additional production from Mike Malchicoff and features guitar work from Tommy Brenneck of Menahan Street Band.
Of the song King Princess says, “‘I Know’ is one of my favorite songs of all time. Fiona said everything I would ever want to say to someone I love. Her giving me this song to sing, and singing it with me, is the greatest of gifts.”
We are stoked for Frankie's upcoming EP about the stages of a breakup and this song "Lost In Translation" is the perfect preview.
She told us, "STA7GES is about the 7 stages of grief I experienced during a bad breakup. I spent the whole year writing these songs and it was only when I finished with the last song, that I saw the arch that I had just experienced. I had written about every stage in song form...shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance."
Ella Vos can do no wrong and her EP "Watch and Wait" is dreamy and heartbreaking as Vos tackles tough subjects.
She told us, “This EP was special because this is the first time I’ve written a set of songs about a single incident and explored all the different emotions: loneliness, grief, acceptance, hope.”
