SHY Martin just has a knack for unforgettable melodies. Her new song "Slow" will be stuck in your head all day.
She explained the making of the song on Instagram saying, "When I started writing songs I never did it without my guitar. I spent hours and hours with it on my bed and on a little pier by the lake next to our house. It’s been years since but this one was written just like that, on my old guitar, at my parents house last summer with some of my closest friends."
There's no one quite like Bonavega, his new song "Pain and Pleasure" is about how love can hurt but that's just part of the process.
He told Earmilk that the song actually came from a very interesting source of inspiration.
"When I got to the studio, I had never met Izzy before, I showed up and gave him a hug. He was wearing a cologne that was the same smell of the person "pain and pleasure" is about. I wasn't even thinking about that person and realized that was their smell. I didn't know it was going to be about her yet, the whole studio smelled like her, I couldn't see straight."
Conan Gray is having a YEAR. Seriously, he about to own 2020. His debut album "kid krow" is coming out in March but he's blessing us with his new song "The Story" to hold us over.
He told his Instagram fans, "my childhood was pretty rough, didn’t have much of one. i distinctly remember being six years old, sitting on my bedroom floor, just wishing i didn’t exist anymore. that way i wouldn’t have to deal with the pain. but somehow, through writing songs, through making friends who also had fucked up weird childhoods, i kept pushing on. and god i’m so glad i did. no matter how much life can hurt, i promise, it’s never the end of the story. there’s still so much happiness and love you’ve yet to see."
Everything Nightly puts out is dreamy perfection and their new song "the movies" is just that.
Singer Jonathan Capeci says, "i usually write ideas down in my phone and they end up becoming songs. i remember driving home late one night and thinking that my situation felt like the movies and i immediately wrote that down. when we were making the song, everything about it felt cinematic to me, and we really just tried to make each element capture what i was feeling on that drive."
I don't usually put remixes on the playlist but I am obsessed with Gabrielle Aplin and now she's released one of my favorite songs with my other obsession Nina Nesbitt???? How could I resist? This song is just so pure and it makes me miss something I never had.
I love Echosmith and for a group that's been on the scene since they were teenagers you can really see their growth as artists. Their new album "Lonely Generation" is an ode to how technology can isolate us and how all anyone wants is real connection.
Sydney told us, "We really wrote about life and very aspect of it. It was important for us to be honest and vulnerable. This album is a coming-of-age album but it’s full of different messages whether it’s a fun love song or a serious song about being afraid to be alone and figure out who I am. We want to figure out why life is so special while we’re doing it. I processed this while I wrote them like “Scared To Be Alone,” I didn’t realize I felt that way before I wrote that. It’s scary to be that vulnerable with a lot of strangers but it’s like therapy to me. I thought for a long time I only had to write happy songs but that’s not true, I want to be personal and real."
Selena Gomez has had a time guys, the kidney, Justine Bieber, I just want her to do good you know? Her album "Rare" is definitely about Bieber but come on how could it not be? What a weird public relationship and now he's married and saying weird stuff on Instagram? I'm just proud of her.
She told Billboard, "I just needed to let my old self go. I was purging multiple different things, but it was specifically who I was then. I would like to say that this is a fresh start, and I started with this album, but I am going to continue to just do better and do everything I can to make it great."
I'm a sucker for a song that makes me want to hit the road and drive into the desert without thinking about anything else and Lola Marsh's new song "Hold On" is just that.
