Gatlin is one of our favorite up-and-coming artists right now and her new EP just shows why. She really covers so much in this project, from toxic relationships to her mental health, it's the perfect soundtrack for your 20s, feeling a little lost and finding your way back.
She shared, "My sophomore EP, 'To Remind Me of Home', is a short story of my life the past year and a half. It covers relationships and mental health - the two things most people in their early twenties are trying to navigate and figure out. It’s honest and raw and is a reflection of who I am as a person. The production, the artwork, the video visuals, etc. are all a part of the story that reminds me of home."
Mae Krell's folk-pop sound is so haunting and dreamy. Their new song "colorblind" is the perfect embodiment of heartbreak.
“I wrote 'colorblind' in the midst of what I thought was going to be the end of a relationship with the first girl I ever truly fell in love with,” Mae says of the inspiration behind the single. “I'll be the first to admit that I feel everything too much, but during the couple of days that this was going on, I really felt like the world was ending. I was wildly sad while also being very restless in a way that I had never experienced before.”
morgxn teaming up with Sara Bareilles is such a wonderful collab. Their voices together are just so perfect and magical. "WONDER" is one of those songs that we all need sometimes.
morgxn shared, "this moment is a dream come true. i spent most of 2020 scared, unsure, and just doing my best. we love to share the highlights online but the reality is that even as we 'reopen' there is this underbelly of unknown that feels really present. for anyone who has a dream that feels so big they might break - this song is for you. i'd love to hear what you wonder. i'd love this to be a way we might all feel less alone as we take our next steps."
Laureline's dreamy, effervescent music feels like nothing else. The gorgeous vocals, the effortless melodies, it really sticks with you. Their new song "Care For Me" has the most beautiful meaning behind it.
They shared, "Care For Me talks through the notion of affect and asks, 'how can one person be affected so differently than the other, even in a shared experience?'
It’s someone asking another to equally match their care, their thought, their love; the thing that is expected and hoped for in any relationship. I wanted to ask the question, 'can you care for this as much as I do?' while also examining the sobering reality of an answered 'no'.
It’s examining individual growth and change, with the longing for what used to be good, especially in the lyric 'and you want to be the same love that I found in you.'"
FLETCHER never misses and "Healing" is exactly the song we all need right now.
She shared, "i have always placed value in everything externally — thinking i needed everything and everyone else to be alright. and my healing was realizing that everything i have ever needed was already right here. i’m waking up to that power. "
