Rence Doesn’t Actually hate u btw

Emily Treadgold #4, Features Leave a Comment

Rence just dropped his music video and single for “hate u btw.” Aside from the title for this track, his voice and the electro-pop feel of this song. His upbeat track is one you’ll want to keep on your radar as he preps for his tour with EDEN.

Tell us the inspiration behind “hate u btw”?

Rence: You know, I really just wanted to make something that I could scream and jump around to so that other people could do the same when they listen or when I play it at shows. So that’s what I did and that’s what we’re doing!

What's something you want your fans to know about you?

Rence: That I’m here. I really try my best to respond to as many messages as possible and listen to as many songs people send me that they’re working on that I can. I’m no “oh you can’t touch me artist” - I’m here and I’m listening. And if you ask me to get on a song with you, and the song is good, I will do it wholeheartedly. Also that I’m nasty at Apex Legends on PS4.

What is your creative process like? How do you draw inspiration for your music?

Rence: I do so by keeping my eyes open. Inspiration is everywhere!! Everywhere. In big moments and small, shiny and dull. Because we’re all living through so many of the same things. I just try and take those things and package them and give them back.

What are you most excited about in 2020?

Rence: Tours. Absolutely. I’m so grateful to be getting on the road with some of my favorite artists this year and to be playing more of my own shows (and my first festival!!). Come dance and laugh and cry with me.

What's next?

Rence: Going to the beach this afternoon. Lol. Musically, new records! Getting ready to keep rolling out the best music I’ve ever made and it feels so good.

Follow Rence on Twitter and Instagram to stay tuned.

March 25 can be noted as a pivotal date in my life. No, it isn't my birthday. For all the 1D fangirls out there, it was the shock of the century when Zayn Malik left the band. As a Zayn girl, my heart broke into a million pieces. I think this hit me harder than any actual breakup. All was forgiven, though, when he coincidentally released his solo album that same day a year later. Also, don't make me choose as I love Z and the band equally. I'm currently in Justin Timberlake's hometown of Memphis, Tennessee working as a personal trainer. If I'm not at the gym, you can more than likely find me at a concert. Feel free to find me on social media. I love meeting fellow fangirls! Twitter : samfonggg, Instagram : samantha_fong, Snapchat : samanthafong
