EVAN GIIA is the new cool girl to keep on your radar. Her newest single, “Switch Off,” is upbeat, pulsing and sure to be on repeat on your playlists. She’s played countless festivals including Bonarroo and Coachella, but we are so excited to catch her on her headlining tour this spring.
EVAN GIIA, tell me what you're most excited for about tour?
EVAN: This is my first headlining tour so I’ve been dreaming about this for a longgggg time. I cannot wait to have a room full of people that bought tickets to see me. I was so used to opening for people so knowing that everyone in the room will be there for me makes me so excited.
For those of us who have never seen you on tour, what can we expect from a live show?
EVAN: We are making a very energetic and epic show. Be prepared to get lost in the music, get sweaty from dancing and hopefully have a sore neck the next morning from jamming out.
Tell me the inspiration behind "Switch Off”
EVAN: I wrote Switch Off for one of my best friends who was going through a really rough time. I wanted to make a song that we could blast in my kitchen, scream the lyrics and let it all go.
What's your songwriting process like?
EVAN: I am melody driven. I come up with melodies first and then usually mumble out words. Then later form the mumbles into a story.
What is something you want your fans to know about you?
EVAN: I want them to know I’m exactly the same person on and off stage, I’ll answer anyone that reaches out to me and I love them!
