Lido Talks About What’s Next

In 2016, Lido performed at Coachella, but this year he got to take in all the festival had to offer while supporting friend and musical colleague, Jaden Smith. I meet Lido in a press tent where he introduces me to his new lady….bug friend. Seriously, even the insects of the desert love this guy. Lido is incredibly humble and talented.

You performed in 2016, but this year you get to enjoy it and perform with Jaden. How is this different than being an actual performer?

I love being a guest and hanging out. With Jaden I have a creative relationship that it’s a feeling of pride and I’m so proud of him and to be there and support him it’s so nice. It takes so much pressure off me and I can just enjoy the festival.

Tell me about your creative process and how you draw the inspiration for your songs?

I pick inspiration from just about anywhere. LIke, just being here - this is inspiring. Seeing so many people and listening to their songs. I just sit back and I’m like, “ Damn everything we see was just something in someone’s head and now they’re singing to thousands of people.” For me, most of the music just happens in my head randomly but the lyrics usually happen from things around me. I want to make honest music because honest music is so powerful.

What’s next for you?

I’m currently finishing my album. I’m proud of it. I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever made so far and a lot more singing. I’ve been challenging myself so I think it’s a cool record and I’m excited for everyone to hear it.
