You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't think Leah Kate's aggressive pop sounds were addictive and catchy. With the release of her latest, "Life Sux," she's proved she's a force here to stay. We were so excited to talk to her and hear about what inspired her to become an artist and some facts you might not have known about her!
Okay, OBSESSED with Twinkle Twinkle Little Bitch. What was the inspo behind this?
Leah: This guy I was seeing was acting like a big baby, and I wanted to figure out a way to call this guy a little bitch. Then I thought, oh, why don't I flip a nursery rhyme and title it twinkle twinkle little bitch.
Honestly, love this. Everyone is streaming "10 Things I Hate About You." This is like my modern-day Miley's "7 Things." Were these tracks inspired by someone or something in particular?
Leah: I really wanted to get over this guy, and I could only remember the good parts about the relationship, and I needed to remember the bad. So I decided to write a list of all the bad things to remind myself of why I need to move on.
So, what made you decide to take the deep dive into becoming an artist?
Leah: It was always just in me. I always knew I wanted to be a performer. It was just about finding the confidence to break my insecurity of performing and really go for it.
As someone who is always on TikTok, discovering artists, and even working at TikTok, what has been the greatest thing about connecting with your community on the platform?
Leah: Connecting with other artists and getting to be your most authentic self. I feel very comfortable on TikTok.
Who are the artists that inspire you? Who did you listen to growing up that helped curate your sound now?
Leah: I was really inspired by Avril, Green Day, Gwen Stefani, OutKast.
I love that. What's something that fans may not know about you?
Leah: I used to be so shy and used to get doctors' notes so that I didn't have to get called on in class.
Oh my gosh! And for fans coming out to see you on tour, what's something they can expect to see?
Leah: A bunch of unreleased music. Insights and meaning of what the songs are about and where they come from.
Keep up with Leah Kate on TikTok, Spotify, and Instagram.

"At 15 years old, I begged my mom to take me to Walmart to get Taylor Swift's debut deluxe album and I never turned back. This was my very first entry point to stan fandom. Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee I was exposed to a ton of music - from rapping 3 6 Mafia to bopping to Justin Timberlake's solo discography. Now, in LA have a day job working in nonprofit development, but by night, I'm a full-fledged fangirl. I'll listen to generally any genre, but I'm a sucker for a good pop song. If you ever need someone to scream sing Carly Rae Jepsen's E·MO·TION with, I'm your girl. No, I still have not gotten over the One Direction hiatus. Please continue to respect my privacy.
