After the recent release of Screws and embarking on a headlining tour across the U.S., Dreamers is poised to make waves this year. The rock/alternative band, made up of lead singer Nick Wold, drummer Jacob Wick and bassist Marc Nelson, released their first single in 2014 and an album in 2016, even hitting the festival circuit in recent years to further elevate them with fans and new audiences alike. In advance of their tour, we chatted with Dreamers about how they’ve progressed over the years, their upcoming plans for new music and what to get excited about from their live show.

You don’t really think of Reddit as a place where pop stars are found, but that’s exactly where singer and songwriter Sasha Sloan was discovered. “My parents were painting the outside of our house and when they got to my window they wrote ‘dork’ in massive letters pointing to it, so I posted it online and it made it to the first page of Reddit. So then I posted my SoundCloud link in the comments and a couple weeks later I was signed as a writer,” explained Sloan.

It seems rare these days to see a band that doesn’t have some sort of synthesizer on stage with them. The evolution of electronic music has bled seamlessly into pop, rock, rap, and indie music making it possible to replicate a variety of preconstructed beats and sounds. But California rock group, The Jacks, have made a conscious decision to stick with a more straightforward approach; “Our goal is to never have a computer on stage,” said bassist, Scott Stone, quickly adding, “Not that there’s anything wrong with bands who do that, we just really want to just keep it to four guys and four instruments.”
