Where do I even begin? My name is Kasey Coble, and I am a full-on #Directioner. What I am not, however, is a Directioner who still supports you in your solo endeavors. Don’t get me wrong – I am on board for the solo careers of Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis in whatever it may be: singing, acting, reality TV judging, etc. The difference is that they went about pursuing solo activities the right way and YOU did not.
As we all know One Direction has been on hiatus since early 2016, which is why I was so confused when I first heard Niall Horan’s solo track “This Town”. I was like, wait did One Direction put out another song or..?
This week when I saw Little Mix trending on Facebook I assumed it was about Perrie Edwards slamming Zayn in their new song “Shout Out To My Ex”. A song the whole girl-gang of New Nine contributors was excited to hear. I was shocked and confused when instead they were trending because of their outfits. The Mirror, is not a reputable journalism source, they mostly write trash articles about trashy things, but having the power to make an article trend is nothing to shake your head at. Just so you don’t give them the benefit of your link clicks, I’ll quote them for you.
Alright, as the young woman who knows the newest music and follows any new band around, I’ll be honest, I was a very late fan to 5 Seconds of Summer. I blame this on the fact that I’m 26, and well, their oldest member is 22. However, it didn’t take long for “She Looks So Perfect” to hit my local radio and with those catchy hooks and clever lyrics, I was instantly sold.
You know that feeling you get when you are looking forward to a concert for months and the day finally comes when ticket sales are open? You set a few alarms the night before and wait by your computer, constantly refreshing the page until that magical moment becomes reality in your respective time zone.
Six years of One Direction and all I have to show for it is… OK, a lot. To be a fan of One Direction, you have to be pretty dedicated, and the dedication turns into a whole lot of time, effort and money toward what some people call a “silly boy band.” But, us #Directioners know that’s far from the truth.
Ed Note: Ryann is an avid Bastille fan and I’ve been receiving very frantic emails from her about her frustration of not knowing when their album was finally releasing. It’s been a long time for a band to finish their sophomore album, and the anticipation honestly has me worried about her sanity. Here, we join her on her quest for their album Wild World.

Once upon a time I tailgated a Beyoncé concert. It. Was. AWESOME.
I had never done it before and never ever EVER thought that a beloved sporting event pastime could do a crossover into the musical world. Maybe this has been happening and I have completely missed the memo on that but let me tell you, I have decided that tailgating at major stadium concerts should be a thing from here on out.
I can be a little bit of a music snob. My music criticism journey began early. When I was in elementary school *NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys were all the rage, and I was fully against them. I wanted to listen to The Beatles and The Beach Boys. I actually threw a tantrum in the car on the way to a field trip when the poor mother driving tried to put on some Top 40 radio station. I still feel bad about that.
