I worry about Kitten being cooped up all day in the pandemic, their insane energy really can’t be confined. Their new song “Daddy Don’t Take My Phone” is a build-up of that angst with a Freudian twist. Singer Chloe Chaidez says “This year I felt trapped. My emotions felt childlike, and the helplessness of 2020 angered me. ‘Daddy Don’t Take My …
New Music Sunday: November 1st 2020
Clearly, we’re obsessed with LEON. She has this ability to pinpoint an exact feeling, and it hurts because of how precise it is. You know you’ve felt the same way before. Her new album Apart is a collection of songs that embody all the emotions associated with love and heartbreak, and it couldn’t be a more on-brand album for LEON. The cinematic …
KITTEN Is On Pluto Being Emo
I don’t think anyone else is doing what KITTEN is doing. The band as a whole has transformed into full form with their latest EP “Goodbye Honeymoon Phase.” It’s the early aughts twisted with punk and it’s hella fun and hella emo. If you don’t know KITTEN, I had another band tell me, “No one burns calories on stage like …

It was hypnotizing.
My 2018 SXSW Diary
SXSW is hell week, but in a good way. This year I was planning a day party (girls to the front) as well as doing press which means a ton of interviews every day and getting videos and live-tweeting. I drink 5 hour energies nonstop and think all together I ate 3 slices of pizza for the 7 days total and I walked more than I’ve ever walked. It’s exhausting but so rewarding.
The Transformative Power Of Kitten
Chloe Chaidez is whispering to me the entire time we talk, she needs to save her voice for the show. She whispers, “My dad was a musician, he was a drummer so he introduced me to a lot of great bands. I was a gymnast so we’d have these long drives to my gym and he’d play records and it was something I really gravitated towards.”
