We caught up with COIN at Hangout Fest, the last time we talked to the band was in February, so we were stoked to see the guys playing in Gulf Shores. If you haven’t noticed, the band has been gaining a lot of traction.
Grace Mitchell Is The Cool Girl We Want To Be
The weather didn’t look great for Grace Mitchell’s show. It had rained all morning but it had subsided for the moment. There was no one I was more excited to see on Sunday at Hangout Fest. “Now” is one of my favorite songs this year. The hard rock edge combined with 80s synths make it so instantly catchy.

I’ve said before that Hangout Fest is one of my favorite festivals. I love the beach vibe, the billions of bros and scantily clad women. Okay, maybe not so much the bros, but the setting is so lovely and I LIVE for long road trips down the Gulf Coast.
Beale Street Music Festival 2017
Is there really a limit to how many times you can see MGMT, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa? If you’re a regular attending Beale Street Music Festival, like me, the limit probably doesn’t exist.
JMBLYA 2017
What happens when you get Migos, Lil Uzi Vert , Gucci Mane , Snow Tha Product and Chance the Rapper all in the span of 10 hours? You get JMBLYA. Pronounced just like the dish “jambalaya”, JMBLYA is just that, an eclectic hip-hop/EDM mix of musical meat and veggies that somehow tastes so good to your ears. While I have my issues with the way that some aspects of the festival played out, overall I feel satisfied. Not as full as I should have felt after I left, but satisfied. Instead of focusing solely on the musical acts of the festival, I’m going to go through some logistics and overall feel of the show.
Nightly Knows How To Put On A Show
If I’m being honest, Nightly’s show was all that and more. While the group only has an EP of four songs out, they did not disappoint.
We The Kings Are Back
Okay, let’s be honest here, if you’re within the ages of 25-30, chances are you jammed out hard to We The Kings. Even now, listening to “Check Yes Juliet” brings to mind sweet summer nights cruising around with my high school bae. I fangirled so hard when I got the chance to talk to Hunter Thomsen about their tour.
